Ripple Gains EU License, Expanding Global Payments Amid Regulatory Push
Ripple has secured preliminary approval for an Electronic Money Institution (EMI) license from Luxembourg’s regulator, the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF). This approval, along with recent approvals from the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), positions Ripple to expand its services across Europe. The company aims to use London to service the UK's markets and Luxembourg to access the broader European Single Market. Ripple reports significant operational growth, with over 75 licenses and registrations worldwide and more than $95 billion in transaction volume processed. The company is also working to enhance the XRP Ledger (XRPL) to meet regulatory compliance standards.
