Ethereum (ETH) Supply Dwindles on Exchanges Amid Institutional Accumulation
According to reports, Ethereum (ETH) is experiencing a significant shift as its supply on exchanges decreases. Data indicates that only 10.5% of all ETH resides on centralized exchanges as of December 21. Corporate treasuries and spot ETFs now reportedly control nearly 11% of the circulating supply. Over 35.6 million ETH is locked in staking. This reallocation suggests institutions are treating Ethereum less as a speculative asset and more as yield-bearing infrastructure. Year-to-date, ETPs tracking ETH have drawn about $12.7 billion in net inflows, with US spot Ethereum ETFs representing $12.4 billion. The development signals a transition of ETH towards becoming institutional plumbing.
