Bitcoin Volatility Hits Record Lows, Less Than Nvidia, Alters Risk Profile
According to CryptoSlate, Bitcoin ended 2025 with a realized daily volatility of 2.24%, marking the lowest annual reading in its recorded history. Data from K33 Research shows a steady compression of volatility through each cycle, from 7.58% in 2012 to 2.24% in 2025. Despite this, large capital flows and price swings have occurred. The market's increased depth, anchored by ETFs, corporate treasuries, and regulated custodians, allows it to absorb institutional-scale flows without the reflexive feedback loops seen in earlier cycles. Bitcoin's market capitalization swings reached $570 billion in November 2025, matching the $568 billion drawdown from July 2021, despite the lower volatility.
